Dr. Mitchell S. Brookstone was born and raised on Long Island. Following his graduation from Baldwin High School in 1980, he left for St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned an A.B. degree in Biology from Washington University. He then returned to New York, earning a D.D.S degree in 1988 from New York University. In 1989 he completed his general practice residency at the Westchester County Medical Center. That was followed by a Fellowship in Oral Oncology at Memorial Hospital at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, N.Y.
From 1990 to 1994, Dr. Brookstone trained as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and served as Chief Resident in his final year there. He spent seven years in private practice in New York City and eventually moved to Wantagh, New York where he currently maintains a private practice doing the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Brookstone is fully trained in providing IV Sedation/General Anesthesia and holds a New York state permit and license to do so. He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the New York State Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Nassau County Dental Society. He is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. At present, he is an attending physician at the Nassau University Medical Center in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
